ABOUT ME

Rebecca Ruh

Licensed Mental Health Counselor ~ Soul Spark Therapy LLC ~
Hi there!

Clients share so much of themselves with me and so I’d like to share a bit about myself with you ~

My name is Rebecca and apart from being a therapist, I am a spouse, dog mom, nature lover, curious learner, adventurous spirit, avid reader, and podcast enthusiast, to name a few. I grew up in Arizona and Colorado, and have also lived in the Pacific Northwest, South America, and most recently, Florida. A deep-rooted sense of purpose led me to pursue mental health therapy, prompting me to earn my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University.

My professional experience has allowed me to provide individual and group therapy to clients of varying identities, ranging in age from 3 to 92. I also have experience counseling in school, community, geriatric, and crisis settings, and have co-facilitated couples’ workshops as well. I am inspired by Dr. Brené Brown’s work on shame, perfectionism, and wholehearted living, as well as Dr. Kristin Neff’s research on self-compassion. I have a special interest in working with highly sensitive clients and regularly incorporate mindfulness and somatic work in my practice.

Mental health is an integral component of who we are. It affects our relationships, our social life, our spirituality, our physical health, our professional performance, our emotions, our thoughts, our actions, and how we experience the world daily. Despite this, stigma, fear, and circumstance often silence a person’s desire to nurture their mental health and tend to concerns they may have. Regardless of where you are, we can walk your mental health and wellness journey together, I hope to see you there.

~ Rebecca
